I recently completed a major revision project. I’ve been working on the first novel I wrote, and wow, what a task! I thoroughly enjoyed it, but it’s surprising how long it took. I got so lost in the project that I disappeared from social media for several days. That’s why I haven’t blogged in a while.
Currently, I am reading through the draft, making cuts and polishing lines. I’m only a few pages in and I am already getting lost in the story. I foresee myself disappearing from WordPress again over the next week.
I am so excited to share the story though! It still seems like forever before it will be ready for publication. It’s going out to beta readers next, and I’ve got to work on cover art. I really wanted to self-publish it by the end of the year, but I don’t want to rush anything. I’d rather it be perfect.
Good luck with the edits! It’s a pretty daunting process but it’s where the magic happens.
I used to find editing and polishing boring but now I like it almost as much as the writing part.
Definitely don’t rush it. I know how tempting it is to get it out there, though.
All the best with your book. Looking forward to the next update 🙂

Thanks so much! The process certainly has grown on me. It has taught me a lot about being a better writer. I hope that future revisions will go faster because of it!
